Who is Mama and Me MIHP?
Who are we?
Mama and Me MIHP is a maternal infant health education and support organization serving families in Monroe, Washtenaw and Wayne counties. Our organization is female owned and operated. Danielle is a woman of color and Melanie is a mother of three children of color. In addition to our personal experiences with oppression, we also have extensive experience working with families that face systemic and institutional barriers which makes it difficult for families to access services and meet their full potential. Combined we have nearly ten years of maternal infant health care experience between us. Our team is also strengthened by a team of nurses and social workers who have educational and lived experiences in maternal and infant health education and care. We are proud to say that we have a lactation consultant as well as staff with infant mental health expertise.

Hello! I am a mom to a teenager and a hard-working wife. My entire career has been working to provide a fair shake to women, children and families who have the added challenge of being underserved by a system that isn't set up to help them meet their full potential. I feel blessed to have the opportunity to work with you and your family.
Melanie Flaherty, RN
Hello! I am an experienced mother of three beautiful girls and a very hard working wife. I have extensive experience providing maternal infant health services to many women, families and children. I feel blessed to witness the growth and development of new humans as they get their start in the world. I look forward to getting to know you and your family more!
